2024 Davis Family Calendar

Happy Holidays to Everyone

Building these creations is a labor of love.  Something always goes wrong but more things always go right!

Sincerely, Carmen Davis

I have uploaded the 2024 Davis Family Calendar into Microsoft One Drive.  I usually use Google Docs but for some unknown "to me" reason I am unable to upload a PDF file to Google Docs today.

Christmas 2022

Merry Christmas!  I hope your New Year is more awesome than you expect.

My year has been amazing! There are far too many things to list and too many people to thank individually in this short letter.  I have been enjoying myself and my travels with aging relatives.  While taking care of business we always found time to enjoy being together.  I am filled with gratitude that at my age, I have so many elderly relatives still living.

I’ve also enjoyed a special relationship with my sister-in-law, Soni.  We have had a great deal of fun over the past year.  Covid slowed us down for a couple of years but in 2022 we managed at least 10 outings.

My foot surgery in December of 2021 was a success and I am half way through the expected 2-year recovery period.  The bunion was modified and two bone spurs were removed from my left foot and I now have a rod and two plates reinforcing my foot.  I might even be able tromp the woods next fall to hunt chanterelles.  I was able to find morels with my mother in May of 2022 because they were all over the place in her neck of the woods.  I could barely walk without stepping on them in some places.  Lucky for me Mom is 82 and not too much faster than me.   Next year, I should be able to out-pick her.

Next year I go on Medicare!  I am excited about that because it should make the surgery that needs to be done on my right foot a lot cheaper!

My grandson Matt still lives with me and his health seems to have improved yet again with a new job.  He still commutes at least 45 minutes to work on the other side of the Narrows Bridge, but he loves his job at Master Millwork in Puyallup.

For every drawback, we both have had better things come our way.  Those lost are not replaced but they definitely generate more gratitude for the new things in our lives and what we have had.

The internet has not been stable for me this December but I still managed to find pictures for the calendar from Facebook.  If you wonder why you’ve never been pictured in the calendar, it could be because you are not on Facebook.  If you have great photos that could be used in the calendar, you may email them to me at carmendavis6@gmail.com.  Both old and new pictures are welcome!  Due to the family growth, I haven’t been able to put the large family photos at the top of the page in a few years, but it is fun to find the faces that I can manage to scrunch down small enough to fit in a tiny space.

My printer had a glitch that spread yellow ink all over many pages of the calendar.  I figured out that I needed to let it cool down.  I’ve replaced the yellow pages but there will still be extra black ink where it doesn’t need to be.

Happy Holidays with love from Carmen Davis and Matt Carson!

Happy December

 Good Morning!

Today is December 9, 2021.  I just updated every single link to every family tree and in every family tree and tested them all.

I talked with Lora Wood last night and plan to send bundles of calendars with her as she makes her rounds to visit her siblings this month.  If you are in the younger generation, expect your calendar to be found with your parents.  There will be some exceptions to that plan.  I will be mailing the ones I usually mail.

Once that is completed, if there are any left over, I plan to leave them on the table at the farm house.

Sincerely, Carmen Davis

December 2020

Good morning to all who are interested in the Davis Family Calendar

Due to Covid-19, most of the 2021 Christmas Calendars will be mailed this year.

I am Carmen Davis, the widow of Ben Davis, forth child of Tom & Irene Davis.  The calendar is my Christmas gift to the Davis family.  Family trees are required for me to track the information that I put on the calendar.  In honor of my late mother-in-law who joyfully shared her family tree with me, I post these trees publicly just as she would have done had the technology been available to her.

In the column to the left is the list of family trees.  Most of you who are visiting this site will be looking for the Tom & Irene family.

Uncle Clarence shared my calendar with one of his sisters which led to a total of 4 core families being listed on the calendar each year.  Uncle Clarence was gregarious and encouraged me to add relatives outside of Tom & Irene's progeny to the calendar.  Tom & Clarence were two of far too many children to put in the calendar so, just for Clarence, I added him and his family, and his sister Lillian and her family.  He was also instrumental in my adding Eva and her family.  Eva was the only sibling to my mother-in-law Irene.

Tom Watts Sr. tree is the family that Tom, Clarence, and Lillian were born into.

Sam Roulot tree is the family that Irene and Eva were born into.

Tom & Irene tree is the family that I married into.  They are the real core of the Davis Family Calendar.

Clarence, Lillian, and Eva Family trees are their children and grandchildren.

In the family calendar which is not posted here, the four families are depicted by a different highlighted color, making it easy to see who goes to who in those basic categories.  Due to the vast number of Tom & Irene progeny, there is nothing that makes it easier to figure out who goes to who than the family tree, but on the calendar for 2020 I leave all of their names in black ink on white paper for higher clarity.

2018 Calendar

2018 Davis Calendar

Merry Christmas!

I have completed the designing of the 2018 calendar!  The link above is my best effort to provide a large enough calendar to read from the computer.   I zoomed in with my screen and the calendar was just as clear and easy to read as the ones I've printed out and maybe better.

The blog has a different theme to adjust to the size of this calendar.  It's the calendar that is important, not the blog!

I have updated the Family Tree for 2018 too.  You can check anytime and use the comment section to offer corrections or you could just E-mail me at carmendavis6@gmail.com!

For the first time in several years I enjoyed every part of making this calendar.  There have been no break downs!  The biggest struggle was getting the calendar to fit in the blog space.

About 47 of you will receive calendars with a list of all the family members posted.  There are two columns; alphabetical and chronological!  I know it's hard to keep track of all of us.

Please keep me posted on births, deaths, and marriages and I'll be sure to update the information every year.

Lots of love, Carmen
